Natural gas rises to highs not seen since January

Natural gas prices rose Tuesday to their highest level since January, as the heat hangs on in the southern and eastern U.S., and as investors worry of storage deficits ahead of winter.

Futures for November delivery ended 2.3% higher at $3.1660 a million British thermal units on the New York Mercantile Exchange, the highest closing price since Jan. 30. Prices are up nine of the last 12 sessions, and are 7% higher year-to-date.
