Departure of chief accounting officer after a tumultuous month should make investors look carefully at the company’s finances

Tesla, celebrated for its ultrafast electric cars, is becoming known for executive departures that are just as swift.

The company announced Friday morning that Chief Accounting Officer Dave Morton had stepped down after less than one month on the job. Mr. Morton said in a company statement that “he has no disagreements with Tesla’s leadership or its financial reporting.” Chief people officer Gaby Toledano also left the company.
