Investors await Thursday’s weekly gas-storage report

Natural gas prices declined Wednesday following huge gains a day earlier, as investors looked ahead to a weekly storage report Thursday that may show a larger-than-normal injection as demand weakens into the fall season.

Futures for October delivery ended 0.9% lower at $2.9080 a million British thermal units on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Prices had surged by 4.3% on Tuesday, their biggest one-day increase since late January.
