Asia Stocks Lower Ahead of China’s Reopening

0010 GMT — Asian stocks have started lower in South Korea and Australia with Japan’s markets closed as the country is on its latest 3-day weekend. In the first action following the start of daylight-saving time in Oz, the ASX 200 is down about 1% amid weakness in oil prices today. The Aussie equities market held up much better than most in the region last week, helped by strength in commodities stocks. Meanwhile, Korea’s Kospi opened down 0.4% and New Zealand’s NZX 50 after falling every day last week is essentially flat in midday action there.
