Asian Stocks Finally Take on a Brighter Hue

By Anonymous

0009 GMT — After days of selling, Asian stocks have started on the right foot for bulls. New Zealand’s benchmark is up 0.7% after declines in 7 of the prior 8 trading days with some recent laggards like a2 Milk and Ryman leading the rebound. Meanwhile, Japan’s Nikkei is up a further 0.6% in the opening minutes after being a rare gainer yesterday; Sony has climbed more than 1%. Even Australia’s ASX 200, which is working its first 8-day skid since January 2016, is up slightly. Korea’s Kospi is flat after it too was the other major index to log a gain Monday, though chip firms Samsung and Hynix are rising further.
